《이음새: 밀물의 지우개, 감각의 잔상》은 온전히 남아 있지 않은 것들에서 시작한다. 기억은 조각난 채 당도하고, 감정은 언어보다 먼저 수면 위로 떠오른다. 스쳐 가는 빛, 몸짓, 사물, 그리고 장소는 그것을 통과한 시간과 감각을 품으며 낯선 밀도를 얻는다. 이 전시는 세계를 고정된 이미지로 붙잡기보다, 사라짐의 가장자리에서 감각되고, 떠오르고, 다시 형상을 얻는 것들에 머문다.

이음새는 단지 이어지는 지점이 아니다. 서로 다른 것들이 맞닿고, 팽팽히 맞서고, 어긋나며 흔적을 남기는 자리이기도 하다. 이 전시에서 이음새는 몸과 세계, 기억과 이미지, 과거와 현재, 사적인 감각과 공유된 공간 사이에서 생겨난다. 포구의 역사와 매립, 재개발의 시간이 겹친 인천 동구의 크로캣하우스에서 이 긴장은 더욱 또렷해진다. 밀물이 삼킨 것은 말끔히 사라지지 않는다. 다른 자리에 남아, 변형된 모습으로 계속 되돌아온다.

Felt Seams gathers works that begin from what does not remain intact. Memory arrives in shards. Emotions surface before language. Passing light, gestures, objects, and places become dense with what has passed through them. Rather than fixing the world into stable images, these works dwell in what is sensed, recalled, and remade at the edge of disappearance.

A seam is never only a point of joining. It is also a site of pressure, friction, and exposure: where things meet, strain, and leave a mark. In this exhibition, seams emerge between body and world, memory and image, past and present, private feeling and shared space. At Crocat House in East Incheon, this tension sharpens. Marked by port history, reclamation, and redevelopment, the site carries the afterlife of what has been swallowed, shifted, or remade. Felt Seams unfolds at this threshold, not to reconstruct what was lost, but to attend to what persists altered, displaced, and deeply felt.

FOUND GROUND

Found Ground에서의 땅은 처음부터 주어지지 않는다. 몸과 기억, 과거와 현재, 익숙하면서도 낯선 풍경이 작업 안에서 서로 닿고 밀리며 새로운 지면을 만든다. 전시 《이음새: 밀물의 지우개, 감각의 잔상》은 그 첫 장면이다. 동인천의 크로캣하우스를 좌표 삼아 여섯 작가의 작업이 펼쳐진다. 항구와 바다, 물류와 이동의 흔적이 남은 이 장소에서 작업들은 하나의 이야기로 묶이기보다, 각자의 긴장과 잔상을 남기며 열린다.

한 공간 안에 모인 작업들은 가까워지고, 겹쳐지고, 때로는 어긋난다. 이번 전시는 서로 다른 장소와 감각을 지나온 이들이 지금 이곳에 모여, 함께 머물 풍경의 윤곽을 찾아 나가는 시도다.

Found Ground begins where separate paths meet.

A sense of place shifts with those who enter it: what they bring, misread, remember, touch, and leave behind. Ground forms through these encounters, between body and memory, past and present, the familiar and the strange.

Set at Crocat House in East Incheon, Felt Seams: What the Tide Erases, What the Body Holds marks Found Ground’s first chapter. The site carries traces of port and sea, storage and passage, arrival and departure. Here, six artists moving through different materials, places, and sensibilities trace seams between what is felt and what remains.
